Volunteers at Shorkey Center must be at least 14 years of age. The Shorkey Center can use volunteers all year round to assist with fund raisers and to help with summer camps.  EAGLE SCOUT WILL DARLING - 2011  PLAYGROUND ADDITION       

 

WILL RAISED MORE THAN $4000 TO HELP BUILD A NEW COVERED CANOPY AREA FOR OUR PLAYGROUND AND PROVIDED TWO NEW BENCHES FOR SEATING PLUS EXPANSION OF OUR PLAYGROUND.  

 

WESLEY METHODIST CHURCH NEDERLAND

PAINTING THE BACK SIDE OF THE CENTER AND REPLACING ROTTEN SIDING. MORE THAN 12 VOLUNTEERS PROVIDED LABOR AND TIME ON A SATURDAY TO UPGRADE OUR CENTER.

ILLINOIS STATE UNIVERSITY>>>FUTURE LEADER ORGANIZATION

OUR COLLEGE FRIENDS GAVE UP THEIR SPRING BREAK, SPENT THE NIGHT WITH US AT THE CENTER,  PAINTED OUR PARKING LOT, PREPARED FOR OUR FIRST GARAGE SALE AND SHARED MUSIC AND FUN WITH OUR CHILDREN.  YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!!
