The physical therapy staff at the Shorkey Center provides individual assessment of strength, movement, ambulation, range of motion, balance and gross motor skills. The physical therapist provides skilled therapeutic exercise and can address issues with weak trunk and extremity muscles, postural control, coordination and balance, flexibility, motor planning, and motor control. Orthotic evaluation, implementation of Orthotic braces, and training/use of adaptive equipment are also areas the physical therapist can address. Home exercise programs and education are provided to parents to enhance appropriate motor functioning at home and in the community.
